Special Traffic Load (300T) on Govuro Bridge (Mozambique) - Singular Structures

Singular Structures Engineering was commissioned to provide structural technical advice to TSK in the approach undertaken by TSK subconsultant for the design strengthening (temporary support) of the Govuro bridge to allow the passage of a special traffic transport ranging from 90 to 300T (Steam Turbine Generator) for the Temane Power Plant in Mozambique.

The heaviest generator had to be moved from Inhasorro to the new Temane power plant, which preliminary technical studies have identified the Govuro Bridge as having insufficient capacity.

Other transport types and routes have been considered but declined in favour a temporary bridge reinforcement strategy.

Expert structural services were provided for the following tasks:
- Client Technical meetings;
- Transport Route Alternatives, including temporary embankments;
- Load Test Protocol Review;
- Load Test Results Analysis and corresponding Conclusions;
