Mental Health Center (Benin): "You Receive More Than You Give"

Reviewer for the new center under construction, which will house 200 mentally ill patients, is located in the city of Dassa, a major city in southern Benin with 113,000 inhabitants, about 190km north of Portonovo (capital of Benin).

The main objective is the construction of the new Dassa center for the care of the mentally ill and drug addicts as well as a medical dispensary to serve the surrounding population. The center will have four modules that will accommodate men and women with mental illness and men and women drug addicts who have developed a mental illness. In addition, it will have two other modules dedicated to reintegration work.

We have achieved about 25% of the Budget and completed about 30% of Construction Works. Our journey is still a long way and the Pandemic situation has impacted significantly our fund raising activities (concerts, testimonies, lunches, ...).
