Also responsible for liaising with AMT (Metropolitan Transport Agency) in the development of Light Rail Train design requirements. This project is the first time that Canadian public private-partnership procurement will include a Definition and Reference Design to cover the A15 highway from Atwater to Brossard area. The new bridge replaced the existing Champlain Bridge and connected the Island of Montreal with the south shore through complex highway junctions and smaller bridges including a new Île des Soeurs bridge.
Design and Built Stage: to ensure that the Authority’s interests (Infrastructure Canada) are protected, during design, construction and operation of the future infrastructures. Special attention was given to:
a) Structure´s durability strategy (harsh winter conditions);
b) Design/Construction program to open the NBSL bridge section by December 2018 and;
c) Budget, among others for the success of this project.
