Chacao Bridge (Chile): A unique Structure

After a detailed assessment of the technical documentation submitted as part of the tender document, we improved the originally proposed structure. Due to confidentiality, the below description corresponds to the original structure. The total bridge length is 2918m, consisting of a double main span of 1055 and 1180m corresponding to the southern and northern span respectively. The southern approach span is a three (3) span structure for a total of 257.7m, while the northern approach span is suspended for a total length of 362m. The deck carries road traffic on both directions (2 lanes per directions).  The South, Central and North Towers height are 147.38m, 180.50m, and 197.9m respectively. The suspended deck is an orthotropic steel box girder deck, while the south approach deck is a composite Steel I-beam and concrete deck.
